About Lake Superior

Lake Superior, the largest fresh water lake in the world by surface area 49,300 sq mi (127,700 km2), provides great Duluth fishing adventures.  The only lake larger in volume is Lake Baikal in Russia.  It was created over 10,000 years ago during the last ice age, and it has become a world renowned destination for fishing.

Here at Superior Pursuits LLC  we target Lake Trout, Salmon, Walleye, and Muskies.  These are superior game fish that are not only a blast to catch, but offer something great to take home for the rest of the family to enjoy.  Lake trout have been given a bad name from some neighboring warm waters, which is not true of our lake trout.  They come out of the cold, clear, blue waters of Lake Superior and are some of the best eating fish out there.  Not to mention salmon and walleye are always tasty to eat.  We have been told by Alaskan residents that the Coho Salmon they caught down here were the best salmon they have ever had; we don’t call them fresh water candy for no reason.
